What computer configuration do I need to use the Expede Desktop Migration Tool?

The Expede Desktop Migration Tool has been developed to enable its deployment across most computer specifications, from average user laptops through to high-capacity virtual machines.  File transfer is configured as a multi-thread solution with files being processed on a per thread basis.  The higher the system capacity the more files can be processed simultaneously.

For a network migration project, Expede recommends a VM configured with 32 Cores and 32GB of memory with the Migration tool set to maximum upload. Such configurations can typically achieve TB's of data transfer per 24 hours.

For lower specification computers, the upload system utilization can be adjusted to meet the local system capacity all the way down to single file processing.

How do we access the FREE Azure Migration?

Expede has worked with Microsoft to permit the migration of data though the internet to Microsoft Azure at no transfer cost.

This enables our customers to move their unstructured data to Microsoft Azure Cloud for processing at a fraction of the cost of trying to process the data locally on network drives.

What is the cost of the Expede Migration Tool?

The Expede Desktop Migration Tool is included within the Expede Platform license and can be distributed to as many users as required without any additional cost.  Although the migration process is undertaken for free, there is a charge for file processing and storage.  Please contact us for details.

Can you migrate & process data from other systems such as SharePoint 2013, SAP etc.?

Expede can migrate and manage data from nearly any source and location.  The Desktop Migration Tool however is designed as a simple solution to quickly deploy across files that can be accessed through Microsoft Explorer.

For other data transfer such as SharePoint on-premises, SAP, Oracle etc., Expede utilized direct data connection and synchronization through Microsoft Data Factory, which permits the connection of over 200 enterprise solutions.
